Solution
If you are a tenant then your landlord may have a legal duty to carry out repairs. You should not rush immediately into litigation as there are certain steps that should first be taken to attempt to get the problem resolved.
If these are unsuccessful then you may need to consult a solicitor. In these cases it is usually better if the surveyor is instructed by the solicitor on you behalf.
