There are many good reasons to have a condition survey carried out. These include the commencement of a new lease or assignment of an existing one. Failing to do this can be very unwise and a false economy, as you could find yourself liable to repair costs for works which should have been undertaken beforehand.
Also if some building work is to be undertaken close to your property, it can be very helpful to have a record of the condition of your property before that work begins, in case damage is caused later.
