On 1 April 2005, a general revaluation for rating purposes took place.
The Valuation Officer sends out forms from time to time requiring the disclosure of information on rents being paid for shops, offices, factories and warehouses; and business turnover in respect of public houses and other classes of property whose assessments are determined by looking at their level of trade.
These forms state that you must complete and return the form within 56 days of receipt, otherwise you will be liable to a monetary penalty.
Given that they ask numerous questions, which are not always straightforward to complete without considerable effort, this can be an onerous task.
The information collected is used by the Valuation Officer as evidence and it is vitally important that the forms are completed accurately.
Lawrence Tattersall Chartered Surveyors can assist with or deal with the completion of these forms on your behalf. Please contact Andy Hart, Edward Wright or Paul Taylor for assistance.
